ETHQUAKE
An experiment in public data

A token to be mined by the ground beneath us.

Every ten minutes, earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 and above are scored from the public USGS feed and settled on Ethereum. Quiet ground issues nothing. A large quake issues more. The contracts are live; mining starts when the oracle is switched on.

01 · The ground

The input, as it arrives.

These numbers come straight from the USGS feed and refresh every minute. This is what the oracle reads.

The last 24 hours, as a clock

Each point is one earthquake. Its angle is the time it happened (midnight UTC at the top, going clockwise). Its distance from the centre is its magnitude. Points from the last hour pulse.

02 · The rule

One formula. Checkable by hand.

This page applies it to the live feed, and the oracle uses exactly the same rule. Each round pays 500 ETHQUAKE per unit, halving every ~2 years.

For each ten-minute round
work = 100 × (M − 4)

Every event of magnitude M ≥ 4.5 adds this. A round is capped at 1000 units. A round with no qualifying event issues nothing.

Magnitude 4.550
Magnitude 5.0100
Magnitude 6.0200
Magnitude 7.0 and up300+, capped per round

What anyone can check, and what the team controls.

Public

  • The rule above, and the contract source, verified on Etherscan.
  • Each settled round carries the hash of the USGS events it used.
  • Anyone can recompute a round from the USGS archive and compare.

Controlled by the team

  • Where mined tokens go. Today every reward goes to the project wallet 0x7FCe…8044. It can be changed until it is locked (possible after 30 days).
  • The oracle signing key, and which miner the token trusts, until those are locked.
  • Pausing the miner, which issues nothing while paused. It is paused today.
  • The pool fee goes to the project wallet. It is fixed in the hook (85% at open, 1% after 20 minutes) and cannot be changed.
  • The launch liquidity. The position belongs to the project wallet and is not locked: it could be removed.
  • Nothing else: no blacklist, no upgrades, no supply above 1,000,000,000.

Only these contracts are official. An earlier ETHQUAKE token (0xc55B…0B2F) is not supported: do not buy it.

Trading is open.

Trade below, straight against the launch pool. The Uniswap app does not route through this pool, so use this page or a tool that supports v4 hooks. The pool fee started at 85% to stop sniper bots and falls to 1% within 20 minutes of opening, then stays at 1%. Fees go to the project wallet. The only token contract is 0xf590…698d.
